This is a hard post for me, not in a bad way, but in a way that I just love this couple, this family, this wedding and all the vendors that helped bring it together in to one absolutely beautiful and breath-taking event, I could talk forever.

Ali and Ryan are one of the most loving, giving, understanding and relaxed couples I have ever met.  When we began planning with them, we knew it was an instant  connection and jumped in with both feet.  The ideas that they brought paired with our resources and experience created an event that was beyond gorgeous and memorable ~ so much that it got featured on the amazing blog ‘Southern Aisle  http://www.southernaisle.com/2012/05/lace-house-love.html?spref=fb

Don’t over look the details in each photo~ there are so many from the floral chandelier to the unique table numbers!

The photos below will tell the story, I mean I could talk about this forever but I will let Brantley’s beautiful images show you 🙂

Sarah and Travis were a fun, laid-back couple, who put a lot of emphasis on making sure their guests had a wonderful time. And they certainly did! From gourmet food and an international wine bar, to late-night carriage rides and a fun photobooth, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Professional photos are thanks to Michael Koska Photography. The unmarked ones are candids we took while setting up.

Vendors LOVE:

Ceremony and Reception Venue: The SC Lace House and Garden

Catering: Food for Thought

Lighting: Ambient Media

Photography: Michael Koska Photography

Floral Design:  Balloons, Arches and Flowers

DJ: Partytime DJs  (TJ McKay)

Tents/Rentals: Palmetto Party Rental

Design/Set: By Invitation Only….Event Planning & Design

As the setting for it all, they picked a beautiful southern venue, the SC Lace House, and let us help them bring their own unique style to it.

For the seated dinner, we set a mix of round and rectangular tables in the mall area in front of the House. We wanted to bring in the navy of the bridesmaid dresses, but keep the overall look light, so we used navy runners with lavender and apple green accents on white.

The governor even popped over to look at everything while we were setting up 🙂

LOVE these centerpieces for the round tables. Sarah saw a picture of it, we found the right vases and Savanda with Balloon Arches and Flowers made it gorgeous.

We created menus using a graphic of the lampposts on the Lace House grounds. And yes…we bought aLOTof green apples from Sam’s Club that week.

The arbor in full bloom made a gorgeous backdrop for the ceremony:

First dance under the clear-top tent on the terrace.

Since the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing were all in different locations on the grounds and in the house, Sarah had these fabulous signs made to help direct guests.

Instead of a big cake, they had a small one for cutting, plus individual pies and an ice cream sundae bar. YUM!

The “wines of the world” bar was a big hit!

And one final shot in front of the gorgeous fountain at the Lace House.

Oh my goodness…where to begin…well, where you should always begin, at the beginning with a blank…TENNIS COURT and a beautiful home.

Mary Elizabeth came to us to help create a beautiful at home wedding for her 400 guests!  We called in some amazing and talented vendors to work very closely on the details since weddings that take place at home or that are what build from the ground up have many, many details from large to small with each one being very important!

We designed with them for months on creating very unique and different spaces over the property and in the home.  They wanted every inch used in a way that guests had a different experience as they moved through out ~ touching all the senses.

As you will see below, we transformed their ‘back yard’ in to a gorgeous, memorable event ~ enjoy the images as we talk about them.

Couple arriving~

We have never had so much fun with fruit as we did with this wedding and with Roxanne and Lee!!!  I know that sounds odd, but lemons hold a special meaning to them so we had fun creating neat and fun ideas to incorporate them in the design as well as using that same bright color palette.

This September wedding was bright, fun, and full of love and laughs.  Roxanne and Lee added in some truly hilarious touches that I am still talking about ~

Once again, every detail was just perfect (in my opinion 🙂 ~ but we worked with those ‘perfect’ vendors so I guess that is what happens (he,he)!!

The wedding and reception were at the exquisite Seibels House and Gardens.

I will start with how fabulous the catering and bar turned out Capital City Catering created the most unique and sumptuous menu for this discerning couple.  Oh my gosh- the food was so perfect!  The also handled the bar, which was the perfect addition to this wedding, they monogrammed the front of the bar that turn ‘green’ when the sun set- just amazing!  The best part truely…the signature drink which was the lemon drop martini!

The other perfect piece of this lemon puzzle was the beautiful, beautiful floral design by Think Floral.  Debby’s designs with the use of lemons is so amazing ~ the lemon topiary are my favorite!

To complete this look, we had the great guys at Ambient Media light our spacious tent (by Palmetto Party Rental) with elegant chinese paper lanterns in white, yellow and green.  They also lit the entire garden with soft green and yellow lighting- just beautiful!

Ricki Ford captured this wedding so unbelievably!  Thank you so much for sharing images!!!

Okay – so a for a few fun images:

Here is one of those adorable lemon topiary Debby created, it is holding the couples invitation that of course, was detailed with a lemon design!

Love these cute monograms of the couples initials.

I love the picture ~ totally surprised her!  By Invitation Only…created the ceremony drape.

….no words needed- but totally describes them!

Shot of the tent….

….more tent

The couple wanted to have two different designs for their tables, so we added in the soft candlescape.

Here is that FABULOUS bar!

The couple gave our local Adluh Yellow Grits!

Look at this cake….Tamra at Slice of the South just outdid herself!  And look at the bobble head dolls!!!!!!

Of course, Capital City Catering’s signature fruit tree.

And I love this send off…on the Harley, tossing her bouquet and of course….the lemons tied to the bumper!!!

Ok – fair warning…I cannot keep myself from gushing over this wedding!  I barely even know where to begin talking about this amazing couple and their beautiful day, but I’m sure this post will be filled with lots of adjectives and exclamation points.

We began working with Julia and John and year ago. Julia had grown up in Columbia, but the couple now lives in New York.  She wanted all her big city friends to see Columbia at its best and enjoy an amazing weekend of fun and hospitality here, and she did not let a single detail get overlooked! I love that Julia and John are both a tad obsessed with details…Julia even did a 12-page guide for the wedding party with directions, contact info etc. for the entire weekend. She is a planner’s planner!

The couple only did one trip to SC during the planning, so we became very good email friends.  And Julia’s mom in Columbia was also a huge, wonderful part of the planning.

I love, love, love the overall feel of this wedding. The couple wanted southern elegant, but a bit modern. Julia loves pink and knew she wanted as much pink as possible and still look like a beautiful wedding and not a sweet 16 party.  I think it came out perfectly.

One of the first things they chose was the Lace House as their venue, and it was a spectacular setting.  We used the main floor of the house and the grounds for cocktail hour and then guests were invited to find their seats for dinner outside in the mall area of the grounds.  We worked with Palmetto Party Rental to find the right tent set-up to fit the area and cover all the tables in case of rain. Luckily the weather was great, but the tent looked amazing. Ambient Media did a fabulous job with the lighting design for both the grounds and the tent. We supplied the light and dark pink paper lanterns and they hung those with the lighting.

Thanks to All Dressed Up Photography for letting me share some of their gorgeous photos here. You can tell which ones below are theirs and which are my very UN-professional candids!

But back to those details…this event was full of them. I was so happy to see them all come together so gorgeously throughout the day as we were setting up and all the various vendors arrived. Scott Jones with American Floral went above and beyond his always beautiful work with the flowers.  The low arrangements on the long tables were the perfect accent to the antique china provided by Aberdeen Catering. We used light pink linen with a charcoal runner and tucked the menus into dark pink napkins. Linens by BBJ Linen.

Love this photo of Julie before the wedding “arranging” the rose petals around the beautiful cake from Parkland Cakes.

Julia loves pink peonies and her bouquet could not have been more perfect for her.

The lovely seating cards!

The guest thoroughly enjoyed the great southern specialties from Aberdeen Catering (Jack Brantley). There was even a station with freshly grilled venison sausages.

The favors were grits, cobbler and muffin mixes from Adluh Flour.

Check out the bride’s sassy party dress!

…and the SHOES!

I love the emotion!

Jill and Julia 🙂

A big thank you to Keith, Barbara,  Jennifer, Mary and all the crew for making this happen. The best payoff was when the groom hugged me at the end of the evening and said it was everything they had hoped it could be.

J

And the most amazing ‘Masters’ grooms cake!!!
