Kate, Tony and their families are the coolest people~ we became family once we began working on their wedding with them~ they were so much fun yet focused on creating a memorable event that guests would be talking about for years to come.

The dedication that went in to the planning warms our hearts every time we talk about it.  They were very specific about certain items but then let us run with some of our own thoughts that really made this beautiful Fall day emerge so beautifully.

The couple married at the elegant St. Joseph Catholic Church and picked the gorgeous Millstone at Adams Pond for their reception. Guests arrived to cocktails out front with the couple then enjoyed the yummy tastings in the house from Southern Way Catering.

Once everyone’s tummy was full, they all moved out back under the draped tent to enjoy the wonderful sounds of The Finesse Band!  They rocked all night long~

Take a look at the wonderful images captured by the talented All Dressed Up Photography to see how lovely this event turned out.

I can’t tell you how excited we get when we begin putting designs together with creative couples, vendors, and  elements!!!  Tyler and Will picked an oh so gorgeous venue to begin with for their wedding and reception~ but what was wonderful is that they truly utilized the venues natural beauty and ‘fed off of it’!!

The gray and {shades of} green color palette was so perfect out there with all the spanish moss and natural backdrops!!!  Tyler found some wonderful inspiration images that she loved for her design ~ so working closely with them and American Floral, a beautiful setting began to developed.

We got really inspired and B.I.O.  custom-built the arbor that Tyler and Will married in front of ~ American Floral built-in gorgeous natural accents of moss, vine and floral designs!!

No space went without a ‘touch’ of this events design as you can see from balcony, banister and doorways….

So on to the photos….

We had a great time working with this easy-going couple. Although Shannon and Alex are from Columbia, they live in Chicago now, so we did most of the planning with their moms. Shannon was one of the most laid-back brides ever. It was so good to see how much she enjoyed her day without letting any of the little things (like RAIN!) bother her.

Shannon had fallen in love with the Millstone at Adam’s Pond when she worked there as a bartender in college so she knew that was where she wanted her reception. Debby West of Think Floral did an amazing job as always with the flowers. They were perfect accent for the space. We added lights and paper lanterns over the dance floor and lots of candles in the fireplaces and on the tables.  We wanted the outside to look pretty when guests arrives and for photos, so we put lights on the balcony and bridge and marked the entrance with metal lanterns on shepherd hooks.

Southern Way Catering did an outstanding job with the food and service. Since the day ended up drizzly, we were worried about the number of people inside, but they were so on top of picking up dirty glasses and dishes from the tables and keeping the food fresh and gorgeous all night it wasn’t a problem.

I loved that the couple had their champagne toast in the silver champagne saucers the bride’s parent’s used at their wedding.

The fabulous cake was by Parkland.  They also had a wonderful chocolate groom’s cake from The Pastry Place.

Lovely groom’s cake!!!

This weekend, we had the pleasure of working at one of the loveliest venues in Columbia- The Millstone at Adams Pond.

We have been working with Brandy and Brian for over a year on their ‘Southern Elegance’ theme.  There were many details that required lots of attention, and in the end, everything was just as it was dreamed of and everyone had a fabulous time.

I want to take the time to thank all of those involved this past weekend- everyone went above and beyond, making this a flawless event.  Kristy and all of her team at Adams Pond/Southern Way  Catering were just amazing.

And a special thank you to my team, Jill, Megan, Harriet and Darren- you guys are so fabulous, you are officially reading my mind now 🙂

We were so thrilled to work with Brooke Turner, Brooke Turner Photography, again.  She and Amanda were everywhere it seemed, they were just wonderful and so easy to work with!!!  I cannot wait to see the photos.

Flowers were created by Woolbrights Florist from Newberry.

The ceremony was held at Arsenal Hill Presbyterian Church (I will have photos soon)- this church is just beautiful!

We placed hurricanes and magnolia leaves in the windows-

Hello –

Well- today is going to be a busy day,  I have all sorts of stuff to do but I wanted to get some photos of a gorgeous wedding we actually did back in December!  At the time, we were unable to get any images ourselves, and then Brad (High Contrast Studios) and I kept missing each other to exchange these great images.  FINALLY, we got with it and now I have a few to share.

This couple were just to great for words-  Alison and Alex got married at Adams Pond right around Christmas so thier idea of many Christmas trees throughout was a lovely starting point.  We helped them bring their design to life- we placed about 15 trees all around with white light, then place gorgeous poinsettias all around the base for texture and color.

Debby West, Think Floral, created the bouquets, bouts., corsages, and center pieces.  The couple got married under the tent on the back patio, then we changed it all over to a fun dance floor and guest seating- it worked out perfectly!

The ceremony setting was so romantic – the centerpieces were lush and extravagant- just what they wanted…

Alison and Alex just after their cake cutting and toast – such a lovely couple!!!

Their yummy, beautiful cake by Parties to Go!!!

This is a natural light shot down the aisle before the ceremony- you can see the trees, poinsettias and candles brought a beautiful glow- it was breathtaking!  The aisle was set on an angle that made it so unique.

And here it is just before the processional began!!!

The main food display with one of the beautiful centerpieces Debby created (see the inspiration photo next to it 🙂 the bride requested- with just a little more green!)

Sushi display-

And the neatest thing was the ‘favor tree’- the couple gave a monogrammed Christmas ornament as a favor and they were all on the tree located in the entry- it was GREAT!!!

This post was created by Jill Areheart, one of our planners here at BIO- I hope you enjoy!  She and Angela did an amazing job – I am so proud 🙂

Southern elegance was evident in every detail of Kendall and Franklin’s beautiful wedding reception this past weekend.

The couple chose the Millstone at Adams Pond – a 1700-era estate – as the backdrop for their evening. Guests arrived at twilight – a perfect time to appreciate this tranquel setting. Southern Valet provided the parking service so guests could immediately step onto the porch looking out over a picturesque pond and stream.

The formal rooms inside were highlighted with lots of candles, silver, ivory linens and gorgeous flower arrangements by American Floral. One special highlight was the elegant magnolia-topped cake from Parkland Cakes. We surrounded it with dozens of flickering votives for a truly magical focal point.

We also filled the huge fireplace with lighted candles. On the mantel, the couple’s engagement photo was flanked by two flower arrangements in crystal vases.

The delicious food was provided and beautifully presented on silver and crystal by The Southern Way catering.

Guests made their way through the house to a porch overlooking a small steam and on to a large tented deck with a dance floor and band. Tables here were also draped in ivory linens and topped with centerpieces in silver julep cup vases.

Instead of a traditional guest book, guests were asked to write their wishes for the couple on special note cards that will later be put into a scrapbook.

It was so wonderful to be part this beautiful couple’s reception. The attention to detail made this event truly elegant in every way.
