I know I am behind, I am sort of out of sorts right now but we are getting back to it!  Jill and her team were so fabulous to help make this event turn out just lovely and see another beautiful, happy couple off to married life…

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Brittany and Derrick on their June wedding in Columbia. This whole day was so full of love and special touches…it was wonderful to be part of it.  The ceremony site itself—Crescent Hill Baptist Church—was where the bride’s paternal grandparents and parents were both married. And from the time the rehearsal started through to the sendoff after the reception, there was just this amazing sense of happiness from both family and friends and from the couple themselves.

When we started working with Brittany, she already had a good idea of what she wanted for the day. She chose a palette of peach and pale blue – colors that perfectly complemented the décor of the reception venue at Forest Lake Golf Club. We were able to help her select linens in the exact shades and materials – a mixture of matte and satin – to highlight the soft colors. The space was a perfect backdrop for this lovely couple as they danced the night away with friends and family.

Here are some quick snapshots we amateurs took. I’m looking forward to seeing the professional photos from Travis Bell.

The ballroom just before guests arrived. A short time later, everyone was dancing to music by The Entertainers and enjoying shrimp and grits and cooked-to-order fried green tomatoes.

Guest tables were draped in a pale silvery-blue that matched the sashes on the bridesmaid dresses.

The lovely cake from Parkland Cakes was topped with a single perfect rose from Rose’s Florist.
