Literally and figuratively…well – let me begin at the beginning, I was so lucky to have been contacted by Vicki, mother of the bride, back in February.  She wanted her daughter, family, future son in law, his family and all her guest to just be able to enjoy a glorious event.

When I met Elizabeth and Donald, I was just so taken by their charm, elegance, and classic ideas!  They wanted a formal wedding with all the very traditional elements and a spectacular, memorable reception.  They got married in Central United Methodist in Florence, South Carolina.  This church was breath taking- the music was so powerful, the pews were filled to capacity with the 400 plus in attendance.

I have to share a moment that is most memorable and honestly will stay with me forever:  Vicki was just about to go down the aisle to be seated and her husband, standing off to one side with his daughter on his arm says to Elizabeth, your mother looks so wonderful.  Then,  just before the doors were opened, her father looked over at her, smiled like he was looking at his child for the first time and told her she was a beautiful woman now!  When the doors were opened and Elizabeth was on her father’s arm, just about to take the first step down the aisle – Elizabeth’s gaze found Donald’s at the end, she never took her eyes off of him, and the smile became larger with every passing second.  She saw her future at the end of that aisle – the moment was most precious, I am glad I was there for that- THIS IS WHAT IS ALL ABOUT!!!!!

After the ceremony, the couple traveled to the reception in a  gorgeous white vintage Rolls Royce.  When they arrived, their driver literally rolled out the red carpet for them- perfect entrance for this elegant couple.

The reception was at the beautiful Florence Country Club. No detail was left out…the food was spectacular, from grilled to order quail, salmon, tenderloin and chicken to passed sushi and a pineapple tree with fresh seasonal fruit 🙂   They had a mashed potato bar, a shrimp and grits station and carved beef tenderloin- the food was just perfect.

The spirits were amazing as well- they had a traditional bar but also wanted a martini bar that was accented with a lovely bottle holding ice sculpture (created by Ice Sensations) with a martini glass etched on it.

The floral arrangements just took you to another land in time it seemed like- David Starks, Flowers by Starks, created these amazing masterpieces that seemed to reach for the sky and bring all the lovely colors together.

Last and definitely not least was the wedding cake- this was created by Myra Johnson, owner and designer of Incredible Edibles.  This gorgeous white on white cake had a different unique pattern on each layer and each layer was a different layer, ranging from red velvet to key lime filling- it was beyond delicious.

The wedding was just BEYOND amazing and spectacular!!!  I truly felt like one of the family by the end of our time together- I wish this couple and their families all the happiness in the world!

Photography was by Milton Morris.  Videography by  James and Marianna Player.

And as always, these are candid photos- I can not wait to see the ones from Milton!

David Starks created a large arrangement that greeted guest as they drove down the center lane to enter Florence CC.

Two matching rose petal monograms also greeted guest at their entrance.
