Hello –

Well even with the volatile South Carolina spring weather rearing is ‘chilly’ head, this wedding was gorgeous and memorable.

We began setting up for the rehearsal dinner Friday around 2pm at the beautiful historic Thomas Bennett House in Charleston.  Maureen and David, our amazing bride and groom, wanted a fun, casual party for their rehearsal dinner.  The weather was just lovely – it had that Charleston gentle breeze to move the white hanging paper lanterns in the trees and make the candles flicker just a bit!  We placed tables out on the patio, lawn and porch, then covered them with soft ivory linens.  We used white hanging metal lanterns and stake hurricanes around the patio to add soft light to the event once the sun went down.

The mother of the groom created the lovely flowers for the event.  Catering was provided by Charleston Bay Gourmet– the fare was pulled pork, grilled chicken and all the traditional fixings for a low country BBQ.  The food was just fabulous and presentation was amazing!  Hill DuRant and his team did a great job.

When Saturday arrived, we got going early- we began setting up at the Mills House Hotel around 10am.  We covered the chair with ivory covers and ivory lamour sashes. Flowers were created by Frampton’s Florist.  Food stations including a pasta station, crab-cake station and carving station we placed around the large ballroom and hall.

As guests arrived they entered through the Middleton Room where they signed a beautiful South Carolina coffee table book that served as the couple’s ‘guest book’.  We placed a large TV in one corner to showcase a movie the couple’s family and friends put together and in the other corner he couple wanted to treat their guests to something fun so we created a candy bar atop the baby grand piano.  Guest then moved forward into the ballroom to fabulous music by the band Flashback and a lovely food display topped with a sand dollar ice sculpture.

The evening was an amazing hit and everyone had loads and loads of fun!

Below are a few photos- please remember these are NOT PROFESSIONAL photos…we just take a few to share!
