When you begin working with couples, you truly never know how things are going to turn out from our initial meeting or what path you may be going down- this is what makes the planning process so much fun and exciting.  Watching ideas  pour out of couples and helping bring them to life.

I met Craig and Nicole almost 2 years ago – we began planning their wedding at that point but due to unforeseen circumstances, the wedding was briefly put on hold and rescheduled for this summer.  With this additional time to plan, we could have all the great pieces of the puzzle come together beautifully!!!

Nicole and Craig very clearly wanted a truly elegant southern wedding down to every last detail.  It begins with the location of their reception.  They picked one of the most beautiful Southern locations for their reception- Boone Hall Plantation Cotton Docks.  The next step was to get the perfect caterer to create the perfect Southern meal…and boy did we find the perfect combination!  Catering was by Royal Grand Events - Curtis is beyond amazing and has a staff that matches his every move.

Guest arrived at the Cotton Docks where they were treated to cocktail hour on the back dock- fresh fried green tomatoes, BBQ sliders and a rich chocolate fondue were the tasty treats to enjoy until dinner.

The menu that the couple picked was really and truly the most perfect Southern meal:  Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Collard Greens, Charleston Red Rice, Black Eyed Peas, Green Beans, Macaroni and Cheese and Pasta Salad, Home-made Cornbread. Dinner was served ‘family style’ to  complete the Southern dinner feel.

Inside, the room was just beautiful- the couple picked loden green and chocolate brown linens that were dressed with gold chargers and topped with a hand fan.  We hung fabric at each door way that blew gently in the breeze- we filled the fireplace with candles and hung fabulous wrought iron lanterns to add a finishing touch.

The bride created all of her own floral designs – and I must say, she has missed her calling- the hydrangea and rose pieces she made were amazing, I love the combination taller and shorter arrangements- her bouquet was breath taking, and I loved the raffia wrapped stems!

I was so excited to finally work  with a friend of mine, Juliet Jones - she has begun an amazing career in photography and she is just doing a fabulous job!

Here are a few photos- they are candid- I am not a professional photographer, some of these are as it was getting dark so please forgive the quality but I wanted to show how lovely this event was!!

The wedding made our 4th of July so absolutely wonderful!!!  What a perfect place and day for such a lovely wedding.  Kristi and Dan were soooooo much fun- working with them and mother of the bride, Susan was just fabulous.  Everyone had a great attitude that this wedding was going to be FUN if nothing else!!!!!!

The ceremony and reception took place at a most lovely private home  on Lake Murray  belonging to the Aunt and Uncle of the groom.  It was the most perfect outdoor space for this wedding, luscious green grass as far as the eye can see and a view of the lake that just made you stop and enjoy.

Kristi and Dan had the ceremony down by the water on beautiful white beach sand- the bride’s family hand made the classic Southern benches that guest sat on.  Their programs were handheld fans that offered a little breeze in addition to one coming off the lake when the ceremony began at 7pm.

The bride was gorgeous- she wore a beautifully fitted beaded gown and an exquisite orchid in her hair.  The bridesmaids wore a deep red gown and of course, Rainbow flip-flops (I love it).  The groom and groomsmen wore tan suits with ties matching the bridesmaids gowns.  It really was the most perfect selection for this outdoor 4th of July wedding!

Everyone danced the night away under the tents with the Little Cat Z Band.  Catering was by the talented and yummy Capital City Catering - they served BBQ sliders (come on, it IS the 4th), their signature fresh fruit tree and home-made chicken salad just to name a few items.

The ‘icing on the cake’  was that we had a front row seat to the Lake Murray fireworks display-

The wedding cake was made by the groom’s mother- fabulous!

The best drink station :-) Capital City Catering makes fresh squeezed lemonade that is the BEST, also served sweet and unsweet tea- we placed bottled water in the metal buckets

The home-made BBQ served with sweet and dill pickles as well as slaw.  I love their display for this!

Oh I had so much fun at this wedding- Libby and Andy were beyond fun!  You could not help but smile and laugh with them and their bridal party, they were having truly the time of their life!!!

Libby was a vision of loveliness and Andy was classically stylish.  The couple married in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the reception was held at The Hall – Canal and Senate.

The couple had wonderful custom details for their wedding- Andy and Libby brewed all the beer served at the reception themselves.  The couple got engaged ‘over a corndog’ so of course, hand dipped corn-dogs were served at the reception.

We dressed up The Hall with custom made curtains (made by By Invitation Only…Event Planning & Design), crisp white couches and soft blue hydrangeas.  To top of the fun filled reception, the groom made their own Cornhole game for the lawn out back- we even had to go play a game :-)

Catering was by Dupre Catering.
