Good Monday everyone- I hope that you all had a great weekend- even with the crazy rain we had Friday night, Saturday was just lovely for the wedding we did this weekend!!!

Darren and I were so excited about this event- we have been working with Kate and Marc since May of last year and we were thrilled to see it all come together.  We have become good friends with them so it was very meaningful to see them marry this weekend.

Their wedding was at the beautiful St. Mary’s Catholic Church in downtown Charleston with their reception at the amazing Francis Marion Hotel on the corner of King Street and Calhoun, right across from Marion Square.

Even though the rain tried to get us down Friday night, when Saturday morning came along- things were perfect.  I went to see Kate and there was NOTHING in the world to dampen her spirits, she was about to marry the man of her dreams- she was beaming!!!  I never saw the smile leave her face.

Kate was a vision on loveliness.  She was relaxed, calm and totally collected.  She and her bridesmaids (who were awesome) gave me the giggles that stuck with me all day- that is the funniest group of women.  They had the big picture nailed down all day and it was amazing. Juliet Jones did all the ladies hair and Leslie Moore did makeup – only the best :-)

At the church, I have the most amazing privilege to be the very last person to speak to Kate before she walks down the aisle- we shared a few jokes, especially to keep dad from tearing up, but we shared that moment of anticipation- she gave me that wonderful big smile and took a deep breath, I asked if she was ready…nothing could stop her.

When Kate and Marc arrived at the Francis Marion- they both were all smiles and just beyond happy.

The reception began with a cocktail hour in the lobby then everyone moved to the Colonial Ballroom for an elegant sit down dinner- after eating the yummy red velvet cake, they danced the night away!

Here are very candid photos- Karyn Iserman was the photographer-  I can not wait to see her pictures!!!

Lotus Flower did the flowers, Kevin Graham did videography.

This is the entry table in the lobby – they used a Charleston coffee table book as their guest book, they surrounded it with family wedding photos.

The seating cards were on the other side of the entry table, they had the guest’s name along with their table ‘name’ which was street names in downtown Charleston.  Each card had the palmetto tree watermark

Here is a day time shot of the full set up- they picked the lovely color palette- taupe and burgundy lamour- it was gorgous, the photo does not do it justice.  We have three different centerpieces as well.

This is the only shot Darren got of Kate and I – I am sad we did not get another one.  She had just danced with her father and it was very emotional – I took her a tissue- she was so cute!  You can see her sweetheart table and her bouquet.

I love this- Kate and Marc having a blast on the dance floor with their guests!

And one last shot at night -

I just wanted to share the slide show Clark Berry has created from some photos of the wedding- I just love it!!!!

Darren and I had the great pleasure of planning/coordinating a wedding this weekend in the most meaningful location for us.  Mary and Chris got married at Brookgreen Gardens- one of the loveliest spots in South Carolina- this location was so special due to the fact that Darren and I got married there almost 4 years ago.  We were honored and rather emotional to be in this location, watching this lovely couple start their married life together!!

Mary and Chris came to me to help them plan from West Virginia- they were so excited to plan in this gorgeous place- they knew they wanted to get married right in front of the wrought iron gates that symbolize Brookgreen Gardens and have their reception on the back lawn of the Russell Holliday Cottage!

The colors were rich and warm for this October wedding – just what we needed on this cool, rainy day.  Mary and Chris got their good luck rain for the day, but amazingly, the rain stopped about an our before the ceremony and we were able to change things over to make it happen just as they had dreamed!!!

Here are a few photos we took, of course candid however the photography was done by the unbelievably talented, Kim Graham.  The table centerpieces were created by Southern Stems.

Lanterns led the path to the gates for guests, the gorgeous ribbons were hand made by the bride’s mother.

I will add the invite and program later- they are so great but I don’t have a photo yet!

Kathy Moore has been so wonderful to send us the slide show from James and Paula’s wedding- this is just so lovely…thank you Kathy- as always, it is wonderful to work with you!

Working with a couple during the process of planning a wedding is, needless to say…an adventure!  When I met Kristy and Dave, I knew instantly that this adventure would be one I remember and cherish forever.  Not only did I get to help plan a memorable event, I had the opportunity to make new and DEAR friends.  I just adore them and I know the friendship will grow and grow.

Kristy and Dave are so awesome- they love each other so much and you see it in every moment they are together.  Kristy and I worked very closely over the past year to bring this fabulous event to life.  I am beyond thrilled that I got to be the one to help them create the dream!

Kristy and Dave got married at St. Peter’s in downtown Columbia.  This church is breathtaking- unfortunately I was not able to grab any photos inside other that the front door :-) .  The flowers were created by Southern Stems.  I am sure I will get a few shots from Clark Berry, her photographer, in the near future.

I was able to grab one shot of Kristy just before she went into the church, all smiles then, as she stood at the back of the church, I was brought to tears as she and her Father stood there, holding each other tightly, waiting for the oh so precious moment- she looked at the floor to fight tears, I had the tears for her…my friend was marring the man she loves!

Their reception was held at Sterling Hall in the Vista.  Dupree Dukes Catering of course catered the event- the food was so yummy and SO plentiful!

Here are a few shots of the set up-

These are just different angles of the room- Kristy wanted to make the space a little more detailed to their reception so I suggested unique window treatments- the curtains hanging were hand made by By Invitation Only specifically for this event!  You never know what we will do…

At night:

Cake is by Parkland.  You can see the lovely ice bowl in the background that the marinated shrimp were in -

When guests entered, they were treated to the ‘Lucky in Love’ tree- this was the cutest thing- Kristy came to me saying she want to give ’scratch off lottery tickets’ for a favor- being that she is a teacher, she wanted to have the ‘South Carolina Education Lottery’ represented!!  So we worked together to create this neat little gift to their guests.

She also wanted to use the South Carolina coffee table book has her guesbook- I had to pick the picture of the State Fair to sign…given that it is in town this week :-)

You can see the arrangements by Southern Stems- a mixture of all sorts fo things!  The last is the bouquets hanging out :-)   The bride’s bouquet was wrapped in lace from her mother’s veil.

The lounge area, orchids were placed in the vases under the table!

The cheese board and chocolate fountain…

Becki Berry was so kind to take a few photos for me with my camera- she is just wonderful and the expert!!!  This is a natural light shot- I just love the look of the candles and lanterns :-) we hung the green and brown just over the dance floor and white were through out.

This weekend, we had the pleasure of working at one of the loveliest venues in Columbia- The Millstone at Adams Pond.

We have been working with Brandy and Brian for over a year on their ‘Southern Elegance’ theme.  There were many details that required lots of attention, and in the end, everything was just as it was dreamed of and everyone had a fabulous time.

I want to take the time to thank all of those involved this past weekend- everyone went above and beyond, making this a flawless event.  Kristy and all of her team at Adams Pond/Southern Way  Catering were just amazing.

And a special thank you to my team, Jill, Megan, Harriet and Darren- you guys are so fabulous, you are officially reading my mind now :-)

We were so thrilled to work with Brooke Turner, Brooke Turner Photography, again.  She and Amanda were everywhere it seemed, they were just wonderful and so easy to work with!!!  I cannot wait to see the photos.

Flowers were created by Woolbrights Florist from Newberry.

The ceremony was held at Arsenal Hill Presbyterian Church (I will have photos soon)- this church is just beautiful!

We placed hurricanes and magnolia leaves in the windows-
